Look who's back!

Wow, it's mid May, I can't believe how fast time went by. I had to take a break from crafting and blogging for awhile as I was sick through most of March and then had to recover from some whiplash I got in a small car accident. It all turned out to be a blessing in disguise though; at the beginning of the year I had felt a bit uninspired and uncreative, butI'm now pretty excited again about knitting and sewing, and rested enough to have the energy for it. To ease my body gently back into slouch position, I've finished a pair of socks in the loveliest yarn:
Snicket4
Sundara Yarn sock yarn in 'charcoal over rose'. The colors are so beautiful, and I wanted a simple but interesting pattern to show it off.
Snicket3
Specs:
Yarn: Sundara Yarn sock yarn in 'charcoal over rose'
Pattern: Snicket Socks from MagKnits
Needles: Us 1
Mods: I used the short row heel I always knit, instead of the one in the pattern. I also knit these socks a little shorter than all my other socks, as they will stretch out a bit over time from washing and wearing.

I'll have another pair of socks to show you very soon!
During the last few months my computer time has been limited as well, so I would like to apologize to everyone who has commented or asked me for a pattern or anything else without getting a response. Since it's not possible for me right now to wade through all the past emails, if there's anything you still need answered, please email me and I will get back to you as promptly as possible.
It's good to be back :-)

Beautiful socks:) I'd love to know how you do your short row heel. The one I do makes some holes. Yours don't seem to have any.

Lovely, beautiful, awesome socks. Not a lot make of people pick the Snickets and they are just as beautiful as any other pattern out there. I am madly in love with yours!

I, too, am glad you are back! I LOVE those socks! I have been thinking about doing that pattern. Yours came out AWESOME! I also wanted to thank you for your Orchid stitch chart. I used it on my Bird Of Paradise Petals Collection Socks from Sundara and lots of people loved them!

hey steph! great to see you blogging again. to answer your question on the erika knight v-neck: i'm making the "to fit bust 34 inches"/"actual bust 36 inches" size (the second one). it does seem to be coming out more roomy than not, but it isn't huge. i'm planning to wear this as a layering sweater, so i wanted it to be a bit bigger for that reason - i have a 35" bust so i tend to make the 34" size so things fit properly. i'd say if you're looking for a closer fit, go for the first size given. all of that being said, i've put mine aside for the past two months in favor of lace designing, and heaven knows when i'll pick it up again...so let us know if you find any odd sizing issues we should know about...

moving on - i love those socks! very cool - i completely missed that pattern and will certainly be giving it a shot now that i've seen it. yours look gorgeous! ~gabriella :)

Welcome back, and I hope your body is healing quickly! It's no big deal but I was head over heels for the pink shirt you are wearing in the Mermaid glove photograph (still am) and was wondering if it had been sewn, thrifted, something else...

Again, no big whoop. Those socks look amazing, I can live without blouse info and just stare at those instead!

Hey there, busy lady! Good to have you back! And look at those gorgeous socks...
I've actually been thinking about you , since your Mermaid gloves inspired me to knit some fingerless gloves based on the Child's First Sock pattern - Potomatus still intimidates me!

I had to move my blog after a long break, but I hope I can find time to post again every once in a while.

It's so lovely to see you back, Steph! And with such beautiful socks, too. (Although nothing less than I would expect from you!) :)

Nice to see you back! I was wondering what had happened to you.

Beautiful socks too. I adore the colour.

I'm so glad you're back! I had hoped things were okay chez craftaholic! I just started a pair of your orchid socks last week and I LOVE them. I must be an idiot because I still don't have the pattern memorized but maybe that will come with the second sock. Thanks, as always, for the great patterns.

Seeing your socks makes me want to try a pair. Is the pattern very stretchy?

So schön, daß du wieder da bist! Die Socken sind toll, bring mich nur nicht in Verführung, ich hab zur Zeit grad so ein seltsames Verlangen Socken zu stricken, dabei hätt ich noch so viel anderes vorher fertigzumachen.

Hello, I have been reading your blog daily and figured I would become less of a stalker by introducing myself!

Your socks turned out WONDERFULLY and have inspired me to finally learn how to knit socks, I am envious! As well as very very nervous to try to knit socks!

Also, I've tagged you in my most recent journal entry.

Beautiful socks.

I've been thinking about you lately - I'm currently working on your orchid sock pattern, using Sundara navy over pink.

Good to have you back. :)

Welcome back! Sorry to hear you've been sick.

Your socks are really lovely. I'm always on the lookout for patterned socks that aren't too "fussy". I love using subtly variagated yarns and think simple patterns show them off best. I'll definitely be knitting a pair of these for myself.
